Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (Upstate New York nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Cardiac Stepdown
• Assignment Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/22/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays required
• Floating: Required to appropriate units as part of the Resource Float team

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York RN license or proof of application (NY nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or progressive care
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification (required prior to start)
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
• Ability to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle (no public transportation available)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute cardiac conditions in a PCU setting
• Monitor and manage patients receiving advanced cardiac therapies, including cardiac drips, insulin drips, and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Initiate IVs, perform venipuncture, and conduct EKGs
• Document patient care using Epic EMR and administer medications via MAK system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory and anesthesia support
• Float to other appropriate hospital units as needed
• Follow hospital protocols, dress code (navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes), and maintain a professional appearance
