This locum tenens Physician OB/GYN role involves providing strong gynecological care in a 25-bed critical access hospital in Maine, primarily covering GYN procedures and management. The physician will be mostly on second call supporting a small, skilled OB/GYN team alongside family medicine and midwife staff. The position requires handling complications and providing specialized care such as endometrial ablation, IUD management, menopausal treatment, and urinary incontinence care.
The facility has a lot of OB coverage; thus, having a gap in GYN coverage, and will need this locum to have strong GYN skills (including caring for endometrial ablation, IUD insertion/removal, menopausal management, failed medical management, urinary Incontinence, etc.) The locum will be on 2nd call most (if not all) days listed above and will sometimes have days both on-call and in clinic. The clinic staffs with OB/GYNs, FM/OBs, and CNMs. CNMs take first call; the OB/GYN is usually only called in when there are complications. 25-bed, critical access hospital. There are about 120 births per year at Lincoln. The OB/GYN department is somewhat small, however, they're a very skilled, tight-knit team, all committed to providing the best care to their community.
