Med/Surg RN Job Details- Location: Duncan, OK 73533 – Southern Oklahoma healthcare jobs
- Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care Hospital, Level III Trauma Center
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 12/17/2025 – End: 3/18/2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1400-$1500
- Unit: Mixed Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) – Infant, Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric patients
- Patient Ratio: 1:5 (Nights)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Charting System: Meditech (Meditech experience preferred)
- Scrub Color: Blue for nursing staff
- Parking: Free on-site parking
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (2 years preferred)
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
- Willingness to care for pediatric patients (pediatric nursing experience not required)
- Tele nursing experience preferred but not required
- Experience with feeding tube care, IV therapy, and phlebotomy preferred
- First-time travel nurses welcome
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to float to other nursing units as needed
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients
- Manage a 1:5 patient ratio during night shifts
- Conduct patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor progress
- Care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, pneumonia, stroke, respiratory failure, post-surgical care, and more
- Support pediatric patients (common cases: RSV, pneumonia, failure to thrive)
- Float to other units and provide weekend coverage as scheduled
- Utilize Meditech for accurate charting and documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services)
- Maintain infection control and isolation precautions
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
