The MRI Technologist I - Outpatient performs routine and complex MRI procedures while adhering to safety and quality standards. They prepare patients, verify technical information, monitor imaging quality, and assist medical staff during the scans. This role also involves equipment monitoring, patient condition assessment, and collaboration with supervisors to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

1.ProcessesMRI scansequences; verifiesdemographicsand technical information;checks technicalquality of images.
2.ParticipatesasamemberofaspecializedmedicalteaminperformingspecializedMRIscansofvariousorgansandin preparing patients for specific procedures. Reviews pathology, surgical, and other reports to monitor patient progressand provideameansforevaluatingtheaccuracyofMRIexaminations.
3.Constantly assesses patient’s condition and administers first aid as required; assists physicians in cases of adverse reactions or emergencies.
4.Confers with the Supervisor to recommend changes, report problems and provide feedback on improving patient care, technical quality and clerical functions.
5.Monitors equipmentperformanceand reportsproblems to the Manager; recordsmalfunctionsas required.
Educational/ExperienceRequirements:•Successfulcompletion of aone-yearaccreditedprogramin MRI Technology orARRT MRI certification
•Currentwith Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements
RequiredLicense/Certifications:•CurrentStateof Maryland Licensure (preferred)
•ARRT (MRI) or ARMIRT (required)
•American HeartAssociation HealthcareProviderBLS (required)
