How you'll contribute:
A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
Performs role specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions and/or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for:
Applicants should have a current Tennessee Registered Nurse license. Additional requirements include:
Basic Life Support certification is required at the time of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months of hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required within 6 months of hire.

Starr Regional Medical Center is a two-campus, medical center in Athens and Etowah. Starr Regional is affiliated with LifePoint HealthThe two campuses, located only 10 miles apart, began operating as part of a common system in June 2012 and formed SRMC in December 2013. Accredited by The Joint Commission, SRMC provids a comprehensive array of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. Starr Regional Health and Rehabilitation is an 88-bed, nursing home for skilled and intermediate patient care on the Etowah campus. Both campuses have outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy services. The Starr Regional Breast Center offers digital mammography, bone densitometry and stereotactic biopsies. Other services include women's and children's services, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, a diabetes center and many other services to help further Starr Regional's mission of Making Communities Healthier. Starr Regional owns physicians practices in Athens and Etowah, including Athens Family Practice, Medical Associates of Athens, Starr Orthopedics and Sports Medicine as well as Starr Regional Medical Clinic in Etowah.
