Monte Nido has been delivering treatment for eating disorders for over two decades.Our programs offer a model of treatment that blends medically sophisticated care with a personalized treatment approach. Our work is grounded in evidence-based strategies for adults and adolescents suffering from eating disorders. We work from a multi-disciplinary treatment team approach while integrating state-of-the-art medical, psychiatric, nutritional, and clinical strategies to provide comprehensive care within an intimate home setting.
We are seeking aCertified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)join our team on a remote, contract basis working8-15 hours/week census depedent.
Under direction of the VP of Adolescent Medicine the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) acts as an interface between client, home team, and medical team to guide optimal diabetes care while in treatment at Monte Nido. CDCES will guide insulin and other medication management in direct coordination with medical team, as well as the rest of the care team in reviewing glucometer readings, optimizing diabetes management, and educating patients on any lifestyle changes recommended. The employee is responsible for establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with patients, family, home team, and staff in a courteous, respectful and professional manner to facilitate optimal care.

Responsibilities Include::- Implementation of the standards
- Services are evidence-based.
- Service design incorporates population needs.
- Ongoing service evaluation and continuous quality improvement plan is reviewed at least annually.
- Collection and evaluation of data to identify gaps in services
- Keeping up to date with most current interventions and devices
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or a related field of human services.
- Three years of Clinical experience preferred
- Experience facilitating behavior change in the area of eating disorders/mental health preferred
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist Credential
- Registered Dietitian or a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification may be required based on state regulations.
- Knowledge of the Principles and Practices of the discipline.
- Knowledge of nutritional sciences and current treatments for diabetes and related manifestations
- Experience giving presentations and facilitating group classes
- Skilled use of Electronic Medical Records
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
