As a Senior Systems Engineer at ManTech, I focus on Cisco Networks while delivering enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce engaged in national defense missions. ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Engineer, with a focus on Cisco Networks to join our team in Laurel, MD. The team delivers enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce performing a wide range of missions in defense of our Nation. This effort is the contract vehicle for the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization overseeing MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT). EIT is MPO’s backbone- platform for all Enterprise users. Data Center & Compute Services is the EIS enabling organization working with customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver select EIT.
Responsibilities Included but are not limited to:
Responsible for analyzing user’s requirements and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements.
Responsible for providing Tier 1-2 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. Will provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the client/server/network devices. Will provide support for the patching systems and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
Responsible for installing Windows software and hardware applications; upgrade systems with new releases and models. Must be able to create accounts, reset passwords, and provide help desk customer service via phone, or tickets.
Must be able to work late during patching days and cover a 6am-6pm shift.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Twenty (20) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SCANBOY or LatteArt
Experience with RHEL 8 or 9
Experience with BIGFIX
Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph.
Physical Requirements:
The candidate must be able to move, carry and deliver workstations from inside the office to customer’s desk.
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
