Assists medical technologists in the test analysis of patient specimens. Performs blood drawing as needed for work assignments, processing and sample preparation; maintains inventory level for section.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: If employee performs phlebotomy, completion of a Phlebotomy course (including completion of a 4 week internship in Phlebotomy in a clinical laboratory setting), or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Course, or six months of related laboratory work experience and eligible for DOH Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy license. Or
• Coursework/Training: If job assignment requires driving to another facility, complete Defensive Driving course within 6 months of hire and every three years thereafter.
• Coursework/Training: H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification.
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification.
