How you'll contribute:

An RN Charge- Registered Nurse - PRN - Women's/Post Surgical Department

who excels in this role:

Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.

Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.

Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.

Assists in Determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.

Provides direct patient care as needed.

Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.

Takes patient assignments to meet staffing needs.

Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.

Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels.

Performs role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.

Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.

About Starr Regional Medical Center

Starr Regional Medical Center is a two-campus, medical center in Athens and Etowah. The two-campus system allows SRMC to offer more services and share resources furthering the mission of making communities healthier. Starr Regional is affiliated with LifePoint HealthThe two campuses, located only 10 miles apart, began operating as part of a common system in June 2012 and formed SRMC in December 2013. Accredited by The Joint Commission, SRMC provids a comprehensive array of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. Starr Regional Health and Rehabilitation is an 88-bed, nursing home for skilled and intermediate patient care on the Etowah campus. SRMC offers some advanced imaging options including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, digital mammography, bone densitometry, and PET/CT. The Senior Care Unit in Etowah is an inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit for seniors with behavioral and mental challenges. Both campuses have outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy services. The Starr Regional Breast Center offers digital mammography, bone densitometry and stereotactic biopsies. Other services include women's and children's services, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, a diabetes center and many other services to help further Starr Regional's mission of Making Communities Healthier. Starr Regional owns physicians practices in Athens and Etowah, including Athens Family Practice, Medical Associates of Athens, Starr Orthopedics and Sports Medicine as well as Starr Regional Medical Clinic in Etowah.
