The Oncology Nurse Practitioner provides specialized care in a free-standing cancer center, managing both outpatient and inpatient oncology and hematology patients. Responsibilities include patient assessment, administration of chemotherapy, ordering tests and images, and managing bone marrow transplants. The role requires board certification in hematology and oncology, appropriate licensure, and participation in a rotating call schedule to ensure continuous patient care.
Coverage Needed:
- Start Date: February 1, 2026
- End Date: September 30, 2026
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Call Schedule: First call for patient phone calls and hospital phone calls Tuesday 4:30pm-8:00 am, Friday 4:30pm-Monday 8:00am
- On site inpatient rounding Saturday & Sunday
Clinical Details:
- Practice Setting: Free-Standing Cancer Center
- Call Ratio: One rotation every 5-6 weeks, dependent upon staffing
- Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric
- Practice Composition: 65% benign hematology, 35% malignant oncology
- Number of Physicians: 8
- Number of APPs: 4
- Average Patients Per Day - Outpatient: 15
- Average Patients Per Day - Hospital (Call/Rounding): 20
- Clinical Area: Oncology - Outpatient and Inpatient Setting
- EMR: EPIC
- Required Duties: Mgmt. of Bone Marrow Transplants, Blood Bank, Orders Tests, Orders Images, Prescribes
- Administration of Chemotherapy: Nurse Oncologist
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology
- Active SC license (will accept providers needing to obtain a state license)
- BLS Certification
- DEA Certification
